Nigel Traill, MA, joined LSI in 2021 after working for Phoslock Environmental Technologies Ltd (PET) for 21 years as its Head of International Business.  

During his time at PET,  Nigel was responsible for the management of more than 150 lake and reservoir projects across 20 countries.  He was a founding shareholder of PET, working at the company’s Head Offices in Australia until 2005.  In November 2005, he moved to Europe where he established PET’s European operations.  He was responsible for establishing the company’s licensee arrangements throughout Europe, North America and South America and played a key role in creating strong linkages between Phoslock and the international scientific community.

He is based in Australia, but each year spends extended periods of time in Europe where most of the LSI team is based.

Prior to joining PET, Nigel was Deputy Commissioner and marketing manager with the Queensland Government's Trade and Investment Office in Tokyo, earlier working in the trading division of one of Japan's largest food retailers and for the country’s national broadcaster NHK.
