Lake, Reservoir and Pond Assessments
The first step is a comprehensive limnological assessment.
we offer comprehensive limnological assessments
A scientifically based assessment is a prerequisite for the successful diagnosis of underlying problems and the development of tailor-made solutions in any impacted water body. LSI offers its clients comprehensive limnological assessments as a first-step in the development of a long-term solution for problem water bodies.
Wherever possible, LSI uses existing water quality data to undertake this work, however if available data are insufficient, we work with our customers to design and implement monitoring programs which will enable the required data to be collected.
LSI works with a network of accredited labs across Europe, North America and Australasia that are capable of undertaking all required analysis with appropriate limits of detection.

Once our assessment is complete, our reports typically include the following:
- Baseline assessments of chemical, physical and microbiological water quality parameters
- Monitoring of inflows and outflows and assessment of nutrient loadings from the catchment
- Nutrient budgets
- Biological surveys of algae and macro-invertebrates
- Fish surveys
- Bathymetric and sediment depth surveys
- Baseline sediment assessments, including phosphorus fractionation
