Karin Finsterle holds a Masters Degree in Marine and Freshwater Ecology from the Carl von Ossietzky University Oldenburg in Germany.

She has worked for ten years in water and environmental quality management projects in Italy and was actively involved in bathing water quality assessment programs. Since 2010 she has been working as a limnological consultant on lake restoration projects in Europe and North America. She is a co-author of several scientific publications dealing with Phoslock as a eutrophication management tool and Phoslock related toxicity assessment.

She has played a key role in the development of the “Lock & Grow” restoration concept and in 2018 joined LSI as a senior biologist for ecosystem quality management.
