Frank is a freelance biologist (Leiden University, The Netherlands) and guest researcher in the Aquatic Ecology & Water Quality Management Group of Wageningen University (The Netherlands). 


He was the caretaker at Lake Rauwbraken (Tilburg, The Netherlands) for more than ten years, providing him with more than a decade of experience in practical lake maintenance. Frank obtained his PhD in 2022 with a thesis title of Beating the Blues by Floc & Lock.  The thesis is a comprehensive evaluation of the Floc & Lock (combined bloom precipitation and phosphorus inactivation) technique, which can be used as an instantaneous cure for and long-term mitigation of cyanobacterial blooms.  


Frank has also published five peer reviewed articles on the Floc & Lock method and co-authored twenty four (peer reviewed) papers on the subject of cyanobacterial bloom.
